The first flexible low-frequency transmission demonstration project in China realized frequency conversion

On May 8th, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Research Institute  completed the unlocking operation test of flexible AC frequency conversion valve in Yanchang frequency conversion station of Taizhou flexible low frequency transmission demonstration project, marking the first time that the first flexible low frequency transmission demonstration project in China realized the conversion between 50Hz power frequency AC and 20Hz low frequency AC, and took a key step in the application of flexible low frequency transmission technology.

China's first "quantum + 5G" smart switching station settled in Anhui Province

The first "quantum +5G" 10kV smart switching station in China -- Tongfengli switching station located in the ancient city of Wuhu, Anhui Province. The reconstruction began in early January 2022, and the construction was completed on April 27,2022 and initially put into operation.

The first "digital new infrastructure" modular substation in China was put into operation

In March,the construction project of Huangshan Longmen 35kV Substation, the first modular substation of "digital new infrastructure" in China, was successfully completed and put into operation.

In the construction of Huangshan Longmen 35kV substation, modular secondary equipment cabin, intelligent substation monitoring system, protection device, substation IOT edge management platform, independent controllable new generation auxiliary equipment and other products have been applied. In addition,"one-button sequential control" technology is applied to realize the transformation of substation switching operation from "manual operation item-by-item" to "computer remote automatic operation".

China's first 35kV flexible low frequency transmission demonstration project submarine cable was officially put into live operation.

On May 25th, with the successful realization of 35kV low-frequency power transmission by submarine cable of Taizhou Flexible Low-frequency Transmission Demonstration Project in Zhejiang Province, the first 35kV low-frequency engineering submarine cable in China was officially put into live operation.  The Taizhou 35kV Flexible Low-frequency Demonstration Project will be built the first practical power generation, transmission, transformation and distribution project in China with stable operation at 20Hz grid frequency, adopting grid low-frequency interconnection technology and wind turbine low-frequency access technology to construct land-island-wind power interconnection system. As one of the main structures of the project, the low-frequency engineering submarine cable connects the Dachen Substation on Dachen Island with the Yanchang frequency conversion station on the land with a laying length is about 25.7 kilometers, which is the "main artery" for sending low-frequency wind power to the mainland.

China's first 20kV heterogeneous line closed loop operation landed in Shenzhen

Two feeders from different 20kV buses of Shenzhen Qianhai distribution network successfully realized hetero-bus loop operation in the public distribution room of Qianhai Excellence Financial Center (Phase II). This project is the first 20kV hetero-bus line loop operation in China.

It is understood that "closed loop operation of hetero-bus lines" means that two feeders from buses under different transformers are connected to form a ring, supporting each other and providing backup for each other, providing guarantee for reliable power supply. When a fault occurs somewhere in the ring network, the system will automatically cut off the fault section line to ensure that the customer's electricity is not affected and realize the fault "zero perception".

State Grid's first UAV one-key sequential control pilot landed in Anhui Province

With the completion of automatic return of UAV from hot standby to cold standby operation in No.0 Station of Anhui 500kV Changlinhe Substation, the one-key sequential control based on UAV video double confirmation has been successfully completed, which is also the first time that the State Grid has applied UAV to one-key sequential control.

China's first self-use 5G power wireless private network was put into use

The first 5G power wireless private network in China was officially completed and put into use in 750kV Lanzhou East Substation in Lanzhou City.

It is understood that the 750kV Lanzhou East Substation 5G wireless private network independently deploys a set of base stations, a set of core network equipment and 14 sets of 5G NR-U terminals by using the 5.8GHz NR-U unlicensed frequency band technology, covering the site of about 0.8 square kilometers of the area. At present, it has been accessed to the mobile operation and intelligent inspection and a number of other business applications. The actual peak rates of uplink and downlink in the site test are 20Mbps and 500Mbps respectively, the high-speed backhaul response for mobile operation and intelligent inspection applications of substations has been achieved

The first MW-level hydrogen energy comprehensive utilization demonstration station in China was put into operation

On July 6th, the first megawatt-level hydrogen energy comprehensive utilization demonstration station in China was put into operation in Lu 'an, Anhui Province, marking the first time that China has realized the full chain technology connection of megawatt-level hydrogen production--hydrogen storage--hydrogen power generation.

It is understood that the demonstration station is located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Lu 'an City, Anhui Province, with a rated installed capacity of 1 MW and an area of more than 7000 square meters. It is mainly equipped with megawatt-level proton exchange membrane hydrogen production system, fuel cell power generation system and co-generation system, wind-solar renewable energy power generation system, power distribution complex building, etc. It is the first time in China to have a comprehensive verification and engineering application of “production, storage and generation”hydrogen energy technology with full independent intellectual property rights.

"Robot fish" has been successfully developed! It will be popularized and applied in the maintenance of 220kV and above transformers

On July 7th, the intelligent transformer internal inspection "Robot fish" developed by State Grid Tianjin City Electric Power Company passed the performance test witness and acceptance conducted by domestic transformer industry experts, marking the successful R&D of "robot fish."

According to introduction, the "robot fish" has the functions of independent image recognition, spatial autonomous positioning, three-dimensional path planning, diving depth hovering, etc. It can independently identify and quickly detect typical defects such as carbon marks and electric tree discharge inside large transformers, and improve the intelligent operation inspection level of transformers of 110kV and above. "Robot fish" can be used for large oil-immersed transformer displacement, deformation, overheating, discharge traces and other internal state inspection, with the advantages of small size, flexible movement. It can carry out inspections to determine whether there is abnormality inside the transformer and improve the transformer maintenance efficiency without affecting the internal environment of the transformer. 

The first substation with three sequential control modes in China was put into operation

At 7:35 on July 8th, Henan Luoyang 110kV Lantai Substation was successfully put into operation. It is the first substation in China to realize three sequential control modes of "centralized control station master station sequential control + centralized control station master station sequential control call + substation station terminal sequential control". It is also the second substation in Luoyang Power Grid connected to the new generation centralized control and D5000 dual system, and the third newly put into operation substation with full voltage level "one-key sequential control", marking that Luoyang Power Grid has taken the lead in entering a new era of "one-key sequential control" in China.

The first 110kV high voltage cable made of domestic insulation material in Northwest Power Grid was put into operation

The first domestic high-voltage XLPE cable was successfully put into operation in Shizuishan Power Grid 110kV normal carbon line, marking the first time that the Northwest Power Grid has put domestic high-voltage insulation cable line into operation.

Domestic high-voltage cross linked polyethylene cable material was put into operation for the first time in Northwest Power Grid, which marked the successful promotion and application of domestic high-voltage cable insulation material in State Grid system, solved the technical bottleneck of high-voltage cable insulation materials relying on imports, and played a leading role in the construction of Northwest Power Grid.

China's first power big data zone online

On August 18th, the first electric power big data zone in China was launched on Guiyang Big Data Exchange in Guizhou Province. This is a concrete measure taken by Guizhou Power Grid Corporation to fully carry the digital power grid, integrate and serve the "East data, West computing" project.

Up to now, Guizhou Power Grid Corporation has completed the entry of "Power Big Data" into the VIP Hall of the National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Experimental Zone Exhibition Center, becoming the first energy enterprise to enter the exhibition center. Successfully completed the secondary node(Guizhou) construction  of industrial Internet identification analysis, realized the docking with the national node, completed a number of innovative applications of identification analysis, and effectively promoted the deep integration of manufacturing industry and Internet.

The first virtual power plant management center was established

On August 26th, Shenzhen Virtual Power Plant Management Center was established, which is the first virtual power plant management center in China, marking that Shenzhen Virtual Power Plant has entered a new stage of rapid development.

The virtual power plant management platform of the center adopts the advanced communication technology of "Internet +5G + Intelligent Gateway", which opens up the interface between the power grid dispatching system and the aggregator platform, realizes the bidirectional communication between the power grid dispatching system and the adjustable resources on the user side. It can meet the technical requirements of the power grid dispatching on the aggregator platform real-time adjustment instructions, online real-time monitoring, etc., and provides strong technical guarantee for the adjustable resources on the user side to participate in market transactions and load side response, so as to realize peak clipping and valley filling of the power grid.

The first all-in-one optical layer board based on intelligent optical fiber system in China completed the test and realized the visual quality of optical fiber in communication transmission network

The first all-in-one optical layer board card based on intelligent optical fiber system in China successfully completed the test in Guangzhou 500kV Mumian Substation, effectively realizing the visual quality of optical fiber of communication transmission network and controllable power communication network. It digitizes, intelligentizes and internetizes traditional operation and maintenance work, and helps to build a new digital power grid system with intrinsic safety.

The first 35kV environment-friendly PP insulated cable in China was put into operation

The first 35kV environment-friendly modified polypropylene (PP) insulated cable in China was successfully put into operation in Shanghai. This is another important breakthrough made by Shanghai Power Grid in the pilot application of environment-friendly cables after the successful application of this type of cable in 10kV power grid in 2021.

The 35kV environment-friendly modified polypropylene (PP) insulated cable put into operation this time is located in Lianhang Road, Minhang Industrial Park, Shanghai, connecting a 35kV electric substation and user factory, with a total length of 1.2 kilometers.

The first 35kV polypropylene low-carbon and environment-friendly cable in China has been put into operation

On October 30th, the 35kV polypropylene low-carbon and environment-friendly cable independently developed by China was applied in Tianjin. This is the first time that China's 35kV environment-friendly cable has been put into operation on the grid, and it is a major breakthrough in the key technology field of environment-friendly cable, marking that China has mastered the core technology in the field of 35kV environment-friendly cable production and manufacturing.

It is estimated that due to the high temperature resistance characteristic of insulation materials,the maximum current of a new type of polypropylene cable can carry increases by 1.2 times compared with traditional cables under the same voltage level. Considering the cable construction and other factors, it can effectively save underground pipe gallery space.

The first carbon emission model calculated by using power big data in China has been successfully developed.

On November 12th, the "Electricity-Carbon Analysis Model", the first national model for using electric power big data to calculate carbon emission, passed the expert review.

The "Electricity-Carbon Analysis Model" has innovatively  constructed the calculation method of "calculating energy by electricity and calculating carbon by energy". Relying on the correlation basis between the power industry and energy activities and industrial production carbon emissions, it gives full play to the advantages of strong real-time, high accuracy, high resolution and wide collection range of electric power big data to calculate the monthly carbon emissions of the whole country, sub-regions and sub-industries, which has theoretical and practical feasibility. The model is an innovation and effective supplement to carbon emission accounting methods, which is the first in the world and can effectively support carbon emission accounting.

China's first power 10kV "Snowflake Network" with fully independent intellectual property rights was first piloted in Tianjin

On November 30th, the first batch of pilot projects of China's first fully independent intellectual property 10kV "Snowflake Network" was completed in Tianjin, which is of great significance for promoting the construction of China's distribution network to high-quality development and building an international leading urban distribution network into a new stage.

It is reported that Tianjin Electric Power 10kV "Snowflake Network" has five characteristics: safe and reliable, economical and efficient, green and low-carbon, high-quality service and friendly interaction. The grid structure takes ring cages as the networking unit, and eight 10kV lines of four substations or six 10kV lines of three substations form a cable backbone network according to regular connections, forming an octagonal or hexagonal "Snowflake Network". Because the important nodes of the power grid are connected in a similar way to the shape of snow petals, it is named "Snowflake Network".

The world's  first! Hangzhou flexible low frequency transmission demonstration project, Tingshan frequency conversion station is electrified

On December 16th, Pinglu Energy Storage Power Station was put into grid connection for trial operation in Wuming County, NanNing City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which is the first large-capacity shared energy storage power station with independent market operation within the scope of Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hainan and other five southern provinces. Its production marks that Guangxi is the first to realize independent energy storage market-oriented operation in the south region, which will not only further improve the new energy consumption capacity of Guangxi, enhance the peak regulation and frequency modulation capacity of the power grid, but also explore a sustainable independent shared energy storage business model, providing a model for the high-quality development of energy storage industry in the south region.

The first large-capacity shared energy storage power station with market-oriented operation in the southern region was connected to the grid.

On December 16, the Pinglu Energy Storage Power Station was connected to the grid for trial operation in Wuming County, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This is the first market-oriented and independent operation in the five southern provinces including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan. Large-capacity shared energy storage power station. Its commissioning marks Guangxi's first market-oriented operation of independent energy storage in the southern region, which will not only further enhance Guangxi's new energy consumption capacity and enhance the peak regulation and frequency regulation capacity of the power grid, but also explore a sustainable independent shared energy storage business model, providing a model for the high-quality development of the energy storage industry in the southern region.
